Selections have been announced for the Home Internationals England Team
Captained by David Maugham from Surbiton Croquet Club, the England team will be travelling to Southport Croquet Club 8-9 June to face Scotland, Wales and Ireland in the Association Croquet Home Internationals.
The AC Home Internationals is a match that takes place every year between teams of five from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. This event moves around between the nations, and this year is being held at the Southport & Birkdale Croquet Club in Lancashire on 8-9 June. England are the current holders of the Home Internationals title following a convincing win from 2023.
Gabrielle Higgins will be joining the team for the first time. Gabrielle, from Sussex County Croquet Club in Southwick, has shown impressive performances throughout the last season. Currently now ranked 35 in the world, she is England’s most improved female player from 2023 and a Women’s World Championship finalist.
David Maugham was quick to respond to the announcement adding “I’ve partnered Gabrielle in the past, we won the 2016 Mixed Doubles Championship together. She has the determination and skill needed to be a great competitor and England team member.”
Good luck Team England!
