England’s high hopes for retaining the U21 World title

Three of England’s junior Croquet players will be competing in the U21 Golf Croquet World Championship in Florida from Monday (14 April 2025), including England Croquet’s most improved player Jack Good.

Croquet is becoming increasingly popular all over the world, with this event being the seventh U21 GC World Championship held since 2009.  The current holder is Aston Wade, from Hurlingham Croquet Club, who defeated Egypt’s Fawzy Helmy to become the 2023 U21 World Champion.

Aston has since gone on to represent England in several team and individual events, lately captaining the team for the 2025 World Team Championship.  He sends words of encouragement to his fellow England players:

“We have three very talented players competing in the next U21 Golf Croquet World Championship and I am sure the trophy will be brought back home to England once more.  I wish my fellow England players the very best of luck for their upcoming World Championship.”

Jack Good from Bowdon Croquet Club (world ranked #15) and Sam Cuthbert from Cheltenham Croquet Club (world ranked #70) will be joined by Declan, Nottingham’s up and coming player and winner of the 2024 Junior Croquet Championship.
