ESTABLISHMENT OF CROQUET ENGLAND

On 28 July 2022, the members of the Croquet Association authorised an application to the Charity Commission to establish a new Charitable Incorporated Organisation. This application was approved by the Charity Commission on 22 March 2023, with the Croquet England CIO being established as Charity Number 1202444.

Members of the Croquet Association (which neither was a charity nor has become one) were invited to join Croquet England from 1 January 2024.  The majority of Croquet Association assets, contracts, activities and policies were transitioned to Croquet England such that all major croquet activities in England could be run under Croquet England from the 2024 playing season.  Croquet England is now the National Governing Body for the sport of Croquet in England.  The Croquet Association continues to exist, as a separate entity to Croquet England, and will do so for some time whilst all activities are closed out.

This website has been updated during that transition period, but there may be some pages which remain out of date, or where ownership of a given activity between the Croquet Association or Croquet England is unclear. In the event of any doubt, the Croquet England Office should be contacted if it is necessary to clarify whether an activity remains under the remit of the Croquet Association or has been transferred to Croquet England.
